Wow, (pardon the pun)

I can’t believe I have been away for so long. And I can’t believe I have been getting so much traffic lately.

Rest assured, I have more than a few articles ready, and Tuesday Toons will be back very soon.

I had taken a short hiatus from playing due to work and personal commitments. I finally logged on last Saturday and played hard. Using the Zygor guide, I was able to power level my rogue from 65 to 68 on Saturday.

Yep.

That means Sunday, I was all up in Northrend, baby.
I have a ton of rested XP, so I am getting 1900+xp per mob, and the quests are handing out 20k+ in XP as well.
I was hoping that the initial questlines from WotLK would upgrade my gear as dramatically as BC did.
It was not as big a leap as I had hoped for, but I still got some nice gear.

If you are on the Zangarmarsh server, look up Valkira and say hi!
Look for more regular updates as well.

I promise.

Gold.

This is my walking around money

This is my walking around money

Nothing get’s the heart going faster that than lure of a stack of shiny gold. If you have spent any time researching WoW sites, I am sure you have come across tons of ads, either offering to sell you gold outright, or offering to sell you a system that will increase your gold by some outrageous number.

I am sure most of you are smart enough to realize that if it sounds too good too be true…

Well, I am going to be sharing some of my gold building techniques, right here, free of charge.
Now, I am surely not claiming to be some gold guru, but I have been able to do just fine solo, buying my mounts, gear and whatever other stuff catches my eye.

The G word.

It’s enough to make even the hardest gamer cringe, tears welling in eyes, pleading to the primal gods of chaos for swift and merciful release.
Yes, *that* G word.

Grinding.
(And I don’t mean the good kind of grinding you can get down at the Nubile Night-Elf Cabaret, either!)

The first time I leveled a warrior up to 60 (yes, before WoTLK) it was alot of fun.
Finally, I rolled my first alt, and I thought, ‘HA!, this will be easy’.
It wasn’t until around level 20 or so that I noticed that, well, things seemed kinda stale.

I had already done all this before. The grim fist of repetition closed its icy grip around my throat.
‘Oh yeah, I remember how fun it was to try to kill like 50 stupid trolls in Stranglethorn Vale’.

Sigh.

I just needed a way to get to the best quests, the ones fat with XP.
I needed a way to optimize this necessary evil.

If only there were some kind of leveling guide out there…

This is a site for all WoW players, from the casual gamers to the hardcore PvP’ers.

I was something of a late comers to WoW.
I didn’t get involved until the summer of 05.
I was initially put off by the cartoon like appearance. I played all of Blizzards other games and loved them, but just something about WoW rubbed me the wrong way.

But in time, I came to appreciate the amount of detail that the world has.
It’s a simple world, from a 3D point of view, but a very very detail rich world.
Being a programmer by trade ( and a former game programmer) I can appreciate the hard work and innovation that Blizz put into this product.

I played very casually, solo, with the occasional group to kill a boss.
It took me almost 3 months to hit level 20 with my rogue.
I wrote the game off for a few months, then got the urge again when I saw pictures of Deadmines.

See, in all that time, I had *never* been in an instance. So I found a pug and went in. I was amazed at the storyline arc, and the whole concept behind the minds was amazing to me.

So I took that character, a mage, and began levelling him, playing almost daily, even if for a little bit.

I finally hit the magical level of 40 and got my mount! Now I could go anywhere. Then I promptly shelved that character and rolled a Blood Elf with the new BC expansion. I got that character up to level 42 before laying the game down again.

I am back now, after about a 3 month break, and looking forward to finding new things to see and do, and maybe, just maybe, get a character past 42.

But no promises…

- I’m Jason, and that’s how I wow
